How to generate KDP listing copy and keywords

This shows you how to auto-generate a book description, subtitle, and SEO keywords ready to paste into your KDP or Etsy listing.

Before you start

  • Your book must be in "completed" status.
  • The AI uses your book's title, theme, page prompts, and art style to write relevant copy.

Steps

  1. Open your book from My Books.

  2. Scroll to the Metadata section in the book editor.

  3. Click Generate next to the description field.

    • The AI generates: book description, subtitle, 7 KDP keywords, Etsy tags, Etsy title, Etsy description, Pinterest pin title, and Pinterest description.
  4. Wait 10-20 seconds for all fields to populate.

  5. Review and edit the generated text if needed:

    • Click the pencil icon to edit the description.
    • Click Save when done.
  6. Click the Copy button next to any field to copy it to your clipboard.

    • Description, subtitle, and keywords each have their own copy button.
    • Keywords copy as one per line — ready to paste into KDP's keyword fields.

What to expect

You get complete listing copy for three platforms:

  • KDP: Description (up to 4000 chars), subtitle, and 7 comma-separated keywords
  • Etsy: Title (140 chars max), description, and 13 tags
  • Pinterest: Pin title and description with relevant hashtags

All copy is tailored to your book's actual content and target audience.

Common issues

Generated description is too generic Make sure your book has a descriptive title. The AI uses the title, art style, and page prompts to write copy. A title like "Book 1" gives it nothing to work with.

Keywords don't match my niche Edit them manually. The generated keywords are a starting point — refine them using the Keyword Miner tool for your specific market.
